HTC One with dual-SIM, microSD slot unveiled in the UK, scratches LTE
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? HTC has been mulling around with its popular flagship, the HTC One, since its release February this year. The high-end Android smartphone has stolen the hearts of the tech community and has since taken on different forms including a blue variant and a US$4420 golden One. Today though, the Taiwanese company unveiled the dual-SIM HTC One with upgraded storage options.
HTC One dual SIM is available for £494.99 (US$809) and will come with a microSD card slot with expandable storage up to 64GB. Similar to the HTC One Max It’s rear shell has also been tinkered with to make it easier to open up and swap storage cards.
Peter Frolund, HTC’s General Manager UK says that this modification to the HTC One would make the lives of jet-setters and those wanting to separate their work from their personal lives simpler and more comfortable:
“HTC is changing the premium mobile market for international users. This is the first time we have released a dual SIM version of one of our premium handsets in the UK which means that users no longer have to compromise on the quality of their phone to avoid costly international calls or separate their work and personal life. We’re creating a new approach and one that we believe will appeal to business users, foreign nationals and international students alike.”
Other than that, the HTC One will sport the same Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, a 4-megapixel “Ultrapixel” camera and a 1080p SuperLCD display. Unfortunately, given these added specs, there were some cutbacks to be made — there is no mention of LTE.
