iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will retail via Vodacom South Africa from tomorrow
Vodacom has announced that it will offer Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models both in physical South African stores and through its online channel from tomorrow, 24 October 2014.
While these phones have been out for the best part of two months in the international market, Vodacom is the first service provider to offer the handsets in the country. The latest iPhones will only be available, initially at least, on contract or as an upgrade. Cue the hmphs.
As for the launch, well, the company’s planning a big soiree tonight at it’s Vodacom World premises in Midrand, Johannesburg.
(For those interested in attending, you’ll need to “SMS the words ‘iPhone 6 launch’ to 44967.”)
The iPhone 6, offered in gold, silver and space grey will be available on the Smart S package for R499, R569, R649 per month for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models respectively. While the iPhone 6 Plus, flaunting the same colours, will be priced a little higher at R599, R669 and R749 per month for the same respective storage options as well.
