Apple will launch its watch on 9 March
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the official launch of the Apple Watch since it was first announced back in September last year then you’ll be pleased to know that Apple will be bringing it one step closer to reality with a press event scheduled for 9 March.
The event, set to take place at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, should give us more details around how Apple intends to price the watch and, more importantly, how it thinks people should use it.
As The Verge notes, it’s also a fairly safe bet that there’ll be another run down of the device’s features.
Given the amount of media attention typically given to Apple events, it also seems likely that any changes it’s made to the watch will be scrutinised in much more detail than is the case with its competitors.
Of particular interest will be whether its managed to do anything about the less-than-impressive 19 hours of battery life early reports indicated it would offer.
When the watch becomes publicly available in April, it will retail from US$350 for the aluminum Sport model. At this stage, it’s unclear what Apple will charge for the regular and ultra-luxury versions, so we can also expect updates on that front from the event.
There have been suggestions that Apple will also use the event to launch a new MacBook Air design and a revised Beats strategy.
