‘God of War’, ‘Lara Croft’ part of the August PlayStation Plus games lineup
August’s PlayStation Plus titles have been announced and contain some great entries for those subscribed to the service.
Following on from yesterday’s exciting Xbox Game with Gold announcement, Sony has announced several interesting titles for PlayStation Plus subscribers. PlayStation 4 users will be treated to the ever-popular Limbo and couch co-op title, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.
Gearburn contributor Wiehahn Diederichs reviewed the Lara Croft outing in January citing its enjoyable and addictive nature.
PlayStation 3 users will be treated to the first tale in Kratos’s epic sage, God of War: Ascension, which currently holds an 80 on Metacritic.com. While it’s the last original God of War title to be released — excluding re-releases — it takes place before all of the other titles. Sony could be pushing this due to the recent release of God of War III Remastered on PlayStation 4.
The remaining titles consist of Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (PS4, PS3, PS Vita), Sound Shapes (PS4, PS3, PS Vita), and CastleStorm Complete Edition (PS3, PS Vita). The latter game had been previously featured on Xbox’s Games with Gold lineup.
While PlayStation Plus is more expensive than Xbox Gold, it does give users games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the ‘commercial failure’ PlayStation Vita. Both companies have stellar lineups for August.
