Pepsi P1 smartphone starts its crowdfunding journey
We get some strange companies embroiled in the smartphone making world, but you’ll be hard pressed to find one as strange as Pepsi.
That’s right, after hearing a juicy rumour last month, the beverage company’s smartphone — the Pepsi P1 — has officially begun its crowdfunding campaign to bring it into reality.
The device will be made by Chinese manufacturer Koobee, and sold exclusively in China, but it’s interesting to note the rather adequate specs for the price (around US$110).

There’s a 5.5-inch screen, with a Full HD resolution, an eight-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s also a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP snapper up front, and what’s more, a fingerprint sensor.
It’s definitely a sweet and refreshing take on the rather arid smartphone market.
If you happen to be in China anytime soon, help thrust the cool(drink) phone into reality here.
