Dead Island: Definitive Collection coming to consoles, PC on 31 May
Techland’s Zombie-killing franchise, Dead Island, will be making its way to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on 31 May. The package will be called Dead Island: Definitive Collection and cost US$39.99 on console.
The collection will feature Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide, all DLC and patches for both games, as well as the brand new Dead Island: Retro Revenge.
Both last-generation games are fully remastered versions of the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 titles and look to include 60fps gameplay, but has yet to be confirmed by publisher Deep Silver.
According to a product listing on Best Buy, Retro Revenge is “a brand new stand-alone 16-bit game set in the style of a classic side-scrolling action/endless runner within the Dead Island universe.” Its existence was initially leaked by South African ecommerce store Loot in July 2015.
Dead Island was released in 2011 with Dead Island: Riptide following it in 2013. Both games hold an average of 71/100 on Metracritic.
A South African price has yet to be confirmed, but expect it to be around the R799 mark. The collection will be distributed locally by Apex Interactive.
