Gears of War: Ultimate Edition PC requirements call for high-end rig

Chainsaw wielding and alien smashing title Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is now available for PC. The game is priced at R319 on the Windows Store.

Ultimate Edition is a comprehensive remake of the best-selling Xbox 360 title and includes additional content not featured in the original release. It currently holds a score of 82 out of 100 on Metacritic.

The PC edition features 60 fps and 4K gameplay It only supports Windows 10 64-bit though, which includes DirectX 12.

These smoother and sexier visuals come at a price. The minimum specs sheet asks for an Intel Core-i5 2.7GHz CPU (or AMD FX hexacore), 8GB of RAM, and either an AMD R7 260X or Nvidia GTX 650 Ti graphics card.

The ideal specs, which will give you all of the graphical fidelity your heart could desire, consists of an Intel Core-i7 4GHz or AMD FX octacore CPU, 16GB or RAM with 6GB allocated to VRAM, and a powerful AMD R9 390X or Nvidia GTX 980 Ti graphics card.

Make sure your internet service provider is generous too, as you’ll be spending 52.8GBs of your bandwidth on the game’s files.

Ultimate Edition launched on Xbox One at the end of August last year.
