Xbox One 500GB now $249 ‘while stocks last’
The Xbox One S is scheduled to hit stores next month, while the formidable Scorpio is set to be revealed next year. So it’s no surprise to hear that sales of the standard Xbox One model are slowing down in a big way.
Now, Microsoft is hoping to deliver a sales boost and clear out stock before the Xbox One S launch, cutting the cost of the 500GB vanilla console to US$249.
“Treat yourself to a great deal this summer! Xbox One 500GB consoles are now only US$249 while supplies last,” the company said in a press statement.
Microsoft also confirmed that “any 500GB Xbox One console” would be US$249, including the Gears of War bundle, Quantum Break white console and Name Your Game bundle.
We’ve asked Microsoft’s local representatives about a South African price drop and will update the story when we receive information.
The Xbox One S is scheduled to launch on 2 August for US$299 — there’s no word on a South African release just yet.
