Update: LG V20 will officially debut 6 September in San Francisco
Update, 5 August: How odd. While everyone will be in Berlin, Germany for IFA 2016, LG announced that it will unveil its LG V20 smartphone in San Francisco on 6 September.
According to GSMArena, this isn’t simply a launch, but a four-day event, which looks a lot like LG’s response to IFA 2016 entirely (although the company will still attend Berlin’s show).
Specifications have also leaked again, citing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 heart with 4GB of RAM, a 21MP snapper at the rear and a dual-camera setup up front — much like the V10. And keeping with the latter theme, the V20 will sport a 2560×1440 5.7-inch screen.
Original story: LG, perhaps sick of everyone hounding it for details, has today announced the launch date for its upcoming LG V20 smartphone. It will be officially unveiled in September 2016, likely at Berlin’s IFA 2016.
Like the LG V10 it’s replacing, the LG V20 will sport a dual-screen setup up front, but additional design improvements are also pending.
The phone will boast a built-in 32-bit DAC, along with a dual-camera setup, likely in the same mold as the LG G5.
More obviously, the phone will also feature Android Nougat as well — which will likely make it the very first non-Nexus device to debut with Google‘s latest OS.
Beyond that, LG is pretty mum in its Korean press release.
Still, if it remains true to the LG V-series debut, expect a fairly robust body, manual video controls and a pleasingly rugged aesthetic.
