Nintendo 3DS XL ‘Galaxy’ edition headed for the States
In what seems to be a weird announcement, Nintendo is making a big splash about its latest Nintendo 3DS XL handheld console. But before you get excited, this has nothing to do with Super Mario Galaxy.
The big N made the announcement via Nintendo of America’s Twitter page. It features a video starring Nintendo of America’s president, Reggie Fils-Aimé, and the device in question.
Basically, this new Nintendo 3DS XL console (as far as we know) isn’t a hardware refresh, but it does have a snazzy galaxy-esque faceplate. The other big announcement was that the device will be retailing for US$199 and be shipping to the US this week.

There’s no word on whether the 3DS XL in its snazzy skin will be reaching South Africa, but the country will be getting a slew of brightly-coloured 3DS systems in the coming months.
