Lenovo makes South African Moto comeback official
Reports surfaced earlier this year that Lenovo was bringing Moto-branded smartphones back to South Africa “before the end of 2016”.
We then broke the news that the Moto range of handsets was expected to be released in November, in the form of the Moto Z and the Moto E3 Power (although we’re expecting more handsets than that).
Now, Lenovo Africa has let the cat out of the bag on their Facebook page, revealing the above image along with the tagline “the smartphone is about to get a lot smarter”.
Lenovo has finally confirmed news of Moto smartphones returning to the country
The latest reveal is in addition to their previous tease, issued on Friday.
The Lenovo-owned Moto range includes the Moto Z (the flagship is notable for its lack of a headphone jack), the durable Moto Z Force and the Moto G4 mid-range devices.
The handsets are also notable for receiving timeous Android updates, although Moto E and earlier Moto G owners might be disappointed with the lack of Nougat.
South Africa last played host to Moto handsets in 2011 and 2012 with the launch of the Moto RAZR and RAZR Maxx smartphones.
We’ll be at the Moto launch later this week, courtesy of Lenovo, so expect all the details on Thursday.
