Red Dead Redemption 2 is official, coming ‘Fall 2017’
Oh, it’s a day of days if you’re a Rockstar fan. Following hot on the heels of its teasers on Facebook and Twitter, the developer has finally announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially in development.
The game is scheduled for release in “Fall 2017”, which means a Spring 2017 release for South Africa.
The reveal tweet, which was posted at 3pm SAST today, has already garnered over 40 000 retweets, with nearly as many likes. Obviously, the hype is real.

Following the story of John Marston, the baddest of the baddest asses in the American west, Red Dead Redemption was one of 2010’s biggest titles, racking up an impressive 9.5/10 score on Metacritic. It seems that at least thematically, RDR2 will be much of the same.
2010’s Red Dead Redemption was one of Rockstars’ most critically acclaimed titles
“Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience,” according to the game’s mini site.
The promo image used on Twitter at least, displays seven men striding towards the viewer. It’s anyone’s guess as to who these men are. Is the central character John? Can we play as any one of these characters? Are these the antagonists? We just don’t quote know yet.
Rockstar notes that more will be revealed Thursday, when the trailer debuts at 11am ET (or 5pm SAST).
