HTC Ocean: has next HTC flagship leaked?
HTC’s U Ultra was one of the more disappointing high-end smartphone releases of 2017. But it seems like the upcoming HTC Ocean will be a little less disappointing…
According to Android Headlines, the new smartphone will come with “Edge Sensors”, allowing users to interact with the edge of the phone’s body. These interactions take the form of squeezes, with users able to conduct long squeezes and short squeezes
The publication says that a wide variety of functions can be activated with these squeezes, such as toggling WiFi, activating the camera and launching Google Assistant. It’s also claimed that users can set different sensitivity levels for the squeeze, so those who generally grip their phone tightly won’t accidentally launch it.
You can apparently squeeze the HTC Ocean to initiate a variety of tasks — still no audio jack though
Other notable features include “real-time HDR scene detection”, “smart video zoom”, 3D Audio recording and the ability to record HiRes Audio. The latter two features are also helped by the addition of four microphones for audio recording.
The biggest downside? Well, the phone apparently lacks a 3.5mm audio jack, much like the HTC U Ultra. Sigh…
Otherwise, it’s claimed that the new phone will have a Snapdragon 835 chip, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, a 3000mAh battery and 64GB or 128GB of storage.
