Could ZTE’s Nubia range make it to SA?
You might not be familiar with the ZTE brand on smartphones, but the company’s been making phones for the likes of Vodacom for a while now.
It’s also got its own brand of capable handsets, with the Axon 7 Mini available in South Africa via MTN.
Much like Huawei and its Honor brand, ZTE has its own sub-brand, dubbed Nubia. More recently, the company has launched the Nubia Z17, packing a variety of impressive tech into its waterproof body.
There’s a Snapdragon 835 chip, up to 8GB of RAM and a 12MP+23MP dual camera pairing. Not too shabby then.
But could we see the brand in South Africa?
“Nubia is currently in discussion with local partners about it,” a representative for the brand told Gearburn in response to the aforementioned question.
“The official launch in other countries will be announced when there’s confirmation,” the representative added.
