Microsoft-exclusive Crackdown 3 gets shifted to 2018
The Crackdown series is one of the more underrated Xbox franchises around, delivering high-flying open-world antics and a neat visual style. But don’t hold your breath for Crackdown to make its debut on Xbox One this year, as Crackdown 3 has been delayed to 2018.
The news was confirmed by Microsoft Studios general manager Shannon Loftis on Twitter.
“To clarify: the entire game is moving to Spring 2018. It’s super ambitious, and we want to make sure the game delivers,” the Microsoft executive tweeted.
“It’s always disappointing to move a date. We are very committed to shipping @Crackdown 3 to the level of quality the fans deserve,” Xbox head Phil Spencer added.
Crackdown 3 is expected to maintain the franchise’s emphasis on open-world escapades, but includes the addition of actor Terry Crews and cloud-enabled destruction.
The delay means that Microsoft’s console exclusive lineup for the year is largely limited to Forza Motorsport 7, Super Lucky’s Tale and Cuphead.
