The latest Xiaomi phone has finally broken cover, with the company claiming a 12% smaller chin. The firm also touts a hidden “sound guided speaker” and ultrasonic proximity sensor at the top of the phone.

In an interesting move, the firm has maintained a single main camera (using the Mi 6’s IMX386 sensor, with 1.25 micron pixels and 4-axis OIS), chin-mounted selfie camera and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

And yes, the firm is using the Snapdragon 835 processor here. So it’s shaping up to be a nicer looking version of the Mi 6 then, complete with no earphone jack. Other specs include 6GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage and global LTE support.

Expect to pay RMB3299 for the 64GB model, RMB3599 for the 128GB variant and RMB3999 for the 256GB version.

The company also revealed a Mi Mix 2 Special Edition handset, offering a white, ceramic design, for RMB4699. The special edition packs 256GB of storage and a massive 8GB of RAM.

It’s not the only smartphone to be revealed at the event, as Xiaomi used the opportunity to unveil the Mi Note 3 as well.

Featuring a 3500mAh battery, Snapdragon 835 660 chip and a similar dual camera setup to the Mi 6 (12MP telephoto and normal cameras), the Mi Note 3 also packs a 5.5-inch display (resolution not specified, so we assume full HD). Unlike the predecessor, the Mi Note 3’s display doesn’t have dual curved edges though.

Selfie fan? You’ll be pleased with the 16MP shooter then, offering what Xiaomi calls “adaptable AI beautify”. Other notable specs include 6GB of RAM, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, facial recognition function and IR blaster.

The 64GB model costs RMB2499, the 128GB variant will set you back RMB2899 and the 256GB version will cost RMB2999.
