Iconic PS3 title Flower is now available on mobile
The PlayStation 3 didn’t have many games in the first couple of years on the market but, by 2009, it was really picking up steam. Sure, big hitters like LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 were largely responsible, but it was also thanks to indie titles like Flower.
The title, by Thatgamecompany, was a meditative masterstroke, as you harnessed the wind in order to control a flower petal. It all made for a relaxing experience, later seeing a release on PS4 and PS Vita.
Now, the title has quietly made its way to iOS this week. So what should you expect from the port?
The iOS version delivers tilt controls, but it’s the same title otherwise. So you’ll be bringing dead fields to life and exploring a variety of beautiful environments.
It’s just the latest sign of the studio embracing Apple devices, as the firm took centre stage at the iPhone 8/iPhone X reveal earlier this month too. During the event, Thatgamecompany’s Jenova Chen revealed their latest title, Sky.
Sky is set to hit Apple devices first, being a multiplayer adventure taking place “above the clouds”.
