Mate 10 Pro, Porsche get priced for SA – they aren’t cheap
Huawei has finally revealed pricing for its Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche edition smartphones. And they won’t be a bargain by any measure.
The Mate 10 Pro is set to have a prepaid price of R17 999, while the Porsche Design variant packs an eye-watering R26 999 price tag.
By comparison, MTN’s own pricing last week listed the phones at R17 379 and R23 449 respectively.
The two phones sport a Kirin 970 chipset with Neural Processing Unit, the latter enabling faster and offline AI tasks. Otherwise, a 4000mAh battery, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and 6GB of RAM are also shared between the two phones.
The devices also pack a similar dual-camera setup to the Mate 9 and P10, albeit with large f/1.6 aperture shooters and AI-powered object/scene recognition. As for the difference between the Porsche and Pro models? Well, the Porsche variant has a different design and 256GB of storage (the Pro model packs 128GB of storage).
The company also revealed that the Matebook X and Matebook E Windows devices would be coming to the country this weekend. These will retail for R23 999 amd R19 999 respectively.
Interestingly enough, we also got word that next year’s flagship Huawei device would be launched in the first half of the year and would pack the same AI-enabled silicon as the Mate 10.
