HTC’s U11, U11 Plus and U12 Plus to get Android Pie by mid-year
If you’re one of the few people who own one of HTC’s newer flagship smartphones, you’re in luck. The company this week announced that you’re getting an Android Pie update by mid-year.
The announcement impacts users with HTC U11, U11 Plus or U12 Plus flagships.
“We wanted to share the status on the Android 9 update. HTC is currently working on ensuring the update is compatible with our phones & we anticipate a release for U11, U11+ & U12+ customers starting Q2’19,” the company tweeted on Sunday.
“Exact timing defers to operators’ availabilities in different countries.”
While HTC no longer sells devices in South Africa, it’s not clear if devices obtained through grey and parallel imports will receive the update.
