Huawei users are getting Booking.com ads on their lock screens
A report by Android Police on Thursday revealed that several Huawei users have been shown Booking.com ads on their locks screens.
The ads, it transpired, were accessing lock screens through the phone’s Magazine Unlock wallpapers, a feature that comes with the phones.
According the the report, the ads are currently affecting the P20 Lite, P20, P20 Pro, Honor 10 and P30 Pro.
Understandably, Huawei users are pretty upset about the invasive nature of the ads and took to Twitter to complain.
“@Huawei why am I now being served ads on my lock screen? Stop it!” one user said.
Ah hear… @Huawei why am I now being served ads on my lock screen? Stop it! Moreover @bookingcom what idiot in marketing thought this was ok? #ads #DigitalMarketing #Huawei #measure pic.twitter.com/Ta1lslMwsP
