Netflix will drop Stranger Things location-based mobile game in 2020
At E3 on Wednesday, Netflix revealed that it will be releasing a location-based RPG Stranger Things mobile game with developer Next Games in 2020.
“The mobile game will re-imagine the Stranger Things universe in the style of an 80’s Saturday morning cartoon,” Next Games said in a press release.
The game will be similar to Pokemon Go in that players will get to explore The Upside Down using Google Maps integration.
“Our core focus will be to deliver on Stranger Things’ rich and intense themes like friendship and supernatural adventure, and translate these into snack-sized entertainment on your mobile device,” said Next Games CEO, Teemu Huuhtanen.
Netflix also announced that its upcoming Stranger Things 3: The Game will be released on 4 July this year.
