Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 3? EA teases testing for new PvZ shooter

It’s actually happening. After a long wait it looks like PopCap and EA are about to begin testing what will likely be Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 3.
The sequel to the second game, which debuted in 2016, is definitely a “new PvZ shooter” and is codenamed “Picnic”. Make of that codename what you will, but it could be nothing more than the PopCap team’s dry humour.
The playtest is seemingly rolling out soon for console players only, and a select number of spots are available. While I’ve enrolled as a playtester on PS4 for the title, I’ve yet to receive an email. And I’m going to be extremely sad if I don’t.
My emotions aside, the news comes just days after a new mobile game, titled Plants vs Zombies 3 was announced, but the first console only game made its debut in 2014.
