Looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will get Android 10 after all

Looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is about to get its final major Android update.

According to SamMobile, the Korean smartphone maker this week launched its Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.0 beta programme in Korea and the UK. One UI 2.0 is based on Android 10.

Users who signed up to the beta programme through the Samsung Members app in these countries will be given access to the beta. Otherwise, there are other non-standard ways of installing the beta to your device at present (but we don’t recommend this at all).

SamMobile notes that the Galaxy S9’s beta period will follow next week.

It’s not clear when the final version will be pushed through to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9.

The Note 9’s final major update

The Galaxy Note 9 made its debut in 2018, and was at the time (and probably still is) one of the most value-packed flagships around. It was the last Note to feature a headphone jack and IR blaster, as well as an iris unlock feature.

We’re in a bit of an Android 10 update silly season, as a number of smartphone makers including Nokia, Sony, Huawei and others gear up to issue major patches to their devices in the coming months.
