The world’s first TikTok phone is one hell of a flagship killer

TikTok owner Bytedance, as promised in July, has this month revealed its first smartphone. While the specs look great, and surprisingly so, the phone’s name might need a bit of work.

Made by Chinese manufacturer Smartisan, the *ahem* Nut Pro 3 arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, GizmoChina notes.

Four rear cameras, a 20MP selfie camera, a 4000mAh battery, and a 6.39-inch AMOLED display rounds off the rather attractive package.

But the hardware isn’t really important for Bytedance. Getting TikTok directly into the hands of millions is what it’s going for.

To that end, the Nut Pro 3 will launch into Douyin (Chinese TikTok) by swiping up on the lock screen, according to Chinese news site Abacus. The camera app also carries filters and effects you’d expect to find in TikTok too.

Pricing is fairly modest too. It’ll cost little over $500 for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage version, with the base 8GB RAM/128GB storage model priced at just over $400.
