Huawei P40 owners to get 50GB free on Huawei Mobile Cloud
There’s good news for those who want to use Huawei’s Mobile Cloud backup solution — those who buy the Huawei P40 will get 50GB of cloud storage for free.
The company has recently shone a spotlight on its cloud storage solution, with users looking for convenient solutions outside of Google’s Mobile Services ecosystem. Due to the US ban, Huawei’s latest flagships may still use Android, but cannot access Google Mobile Services.
This means that you can’t install apps like Google Drive and Google Photos on devices Huawei’s 2020 flagships.
But you don’t have to give up cloud storage. Huawei Mobile Cloud provides a cloud backup solution that can be accessed on multiple devices and your PC using one central Huawei ID.
Usually, users get the first 5GB free, with larger storage capacities available for purchase. However, when you buy a P40, you can get 50GB free.

The service lets you back up your contacts, messages, gallery, notepad, voice recordings, and files saved to Huawei Drive. The cloud website also lets you trigger a Find My Phone tool when you’ve misplaced your device.
You can find out more about the cloud storage platform on the company’s consumer website. If you want to sign in to the cloud service on your PC, you can visit the Huawei Cloud website and sign in.
