Dev creates browser game where you try to get through 2020
While some of us want to leave 2020 behind and never speak of it again, a developer has created a surprisingly fun side-scroller browser game where you try to get through the year.
Called 2020 Game, the short game sees you go through some of the major events of 2020.
It starts off with the Australian wildfires and takes you through major events such as the pandemic, the stock market crash, the US elections, and the beginning of the vaccine rollout.
There are many fun nods to the quirks of the year — such as stocking up on toilet paper and Zoom technical issues.
While the year was particularly dark, the game doesn’t quite embody the stress and panic many of us felt.
Creator Max Garkavyy says that this is their first game and that it took them six months to create.
They have started up a donation page in hopes of being able to quit their day job and move to developing games full-time.
You can try out the game for yourself on the 2020 Game website.
