How to use the Game Help feature on the PS5
PlayStation has shed some light on the development of the Game Help feature on the PlayStation 5 (PS5), which will provide players with spoiler-free assistance while gaming.
The feature was introduced at the console’s launch last year.
During its development, PlayStation found the majority of players look for help while playing its games. Almost half of those surveyed said they get stuck in a game on a weekly basis while more than half encountered spoilers while looking for a solution.
“This feedback really resonated with us, so we went to work to create a feature for players that provides them with an easy way to get hints on the specific parts of the game they are playing, without spoilers or spending a lot of time searching for tips on the internet,” SIE Director of Platform Planning and Management, Adil Sherwani, said in a statement.
How to use the PS5 Get Help feature
The PS5 Game Help feature is available to players with a PS Plus subscription.
The feature is available in games including Astro’s Playroom, Oddworld: Soulstorm, Maquette and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
To access the feature while in-game, press the PS button on your controller. If a game has the feature, the Game Help icon will appear in the top right-hand corner of your in-progress game tab.
Click on the icon and a list of current game objectives will appear. Objectives that you can get help with will have an icon listed next to them.
Click on the icon again and a short video explaining how to complete the objective will play. Players can rewind and fast forward through videos in case they need an extra look.
If you want the video to play while you’re playing the game, you can pin it to the side of the screen.
