TicWatch smartwatch brand comes to South Africa – price and details
A new smartwatch brand has landed in South Africa with the launch of TicWatch, along with price details for the watches.
TicWatch is a smartphone brand from Chinese company Mobvoi. The company has announced that the TicWatch GTH and Pro 3 GPS are now available in South Africa.
Both smartwatches can monitor blood oxygen levels, your heart rate, and a variety of other metrics. Users can sync the data to their Android and iOS smartphones using the Mobvoi App, which can also be synced to Google Fit and Apple Health.
Here’s what to know about the new devices…
TicWatch GTH
The TicWatch GTH is the more affordable of the two devices. It features a 1.55-inch rectangular colour display.
The watch can track your SpO2 levels, heart rate, sleep quality, and respiration rate.
A unique feature that isn’t seen on many other watches is the ability for the watch to measure skin temperature.
It also features 5ATM water resistance and up to 10 days of battery life.
TicWatch Pro 3 GPS
The TicWatch Pro 3 GPS smartwatch, as its name implies, includes GPS tracking capabilities and a rounded 1.4-inch AMOLED display.
The round display gives it a more traditional watch appearance. The device has a battery life of up to 72 hours in smart mode and up to 45 days in essential mode.
In terms of health tracking, the smartwatch can monitor your heart rate, sleep, workouts, motion, and more. It also has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming.
You can also use the watch to access Google Assistant.
In terms of customisation, the smartwatch lets you choose custom watch faces and access apps from the Google Play Store.
Price details for South Africa
The TicWatch GTH has a price of R1 999. Meanwhile, the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS has a recommended price of R6 699.
Both smartwatches are currently available online on Takealot and Agent Zero.
They will also be available through Vodacom in the coming weeks.
The TicWatch GTH will be available as an add-on to a Vodacom contract from 7 July, either for a price of R109 x 24 months or R69 x 36 months.
The Pro 3 GPS will launch at Vodacom from 8 August. Contract prices will be announced closer to the launch.
You can find out more about the watches on the TicWatch website.
