PlayStation 5 restock scheduled for 18 August in South Africa

If you’re still looking for a PlayStation 5  (PS5) console in South Africa, local retailer Koodoo has announced a stock drop for 18 August.

The online retailer announced that the stock will become available for orders at 1pm on Wednesday.

However, if history is anything to go by, it won’t be long before stock sells out.

In its stock drop announcement, Koodoo highlighted some bundles, as well as the PS5 Standard and Digital Console.

The bundles include additional accessories and games. For example, the PS5 Inspired Bundle will include the console, two controllers, a DualSense charging station, and a copy of Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. The bundle costs R14 999.

The PS5 Digital Mega Bundle will include the Digital console, two controllers, and a controller charging station. It has a price of R11 999.

Finally, the PS5 Classic Bundle will include the standard console, a controller, and a copy of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. It will cost R12 999.

While it has been nine months since the PlayStation 5 launched in South Africa, customers continue to be affected by stock shortages.

This issue is not limited to local retailers — with global supply not seeming to meet demand. Despite this, the PS5 has still managed to exceed the PS4’s launch sales.
