Google has announced its latest AI model, Gemini 1.0, which appears to be one of the most capable artificial intelligence models. As Google figures…
Leading consumer electronics brand TCL launched its latest line of Google LED TVs in a glittering event held at the Galleria Sandton last year and has since destabilized the electronics market in terms of price and value for money.
Adding to an already impressive range of televisions, the brand introduces it’s sparkling P635 4K HDR Google TV.
We looked at specs, refresh rate, and all-round personality of the new entry into the P series lineup and this is what we picked up.
This smart TV comes with an above-board technical personality with an updated processor and Android operating system packed with a Google TV interface.
Opening the box
Inside the box, you will find the remote, a user manual, a TV stand and RGB break-out cables.
Carrying the unit up a flight of stairs was effortless as the P635 comes at a manageable weight of just 11.1 kg.
A very thin unit with a slight curve at the back which shouldn’t be an issue considering it’s the visuals we’re all after.
This P-series addition comes with Google TV and an eco system of apps, HDR capability and a refresh rate of 60 Hz ready to handle gamers.
For quality movie streaming on a budget we nodded to this introduction from TCL which by the looks of it, caters solid value for money.
We define the term entry level as any retailer politely telling buyers to manage their expectations when it comes down to purchases.
It’s astonishing to see what the P635 comes with considering it’s price, 4K resolution, HDR and Dolby vision.
There are three HDMI slots, a 2.0 port and 1 USB port which match pretty much any connectivity request at entry level.
We have a static ratio under 8000 to 1 which caters crisp and compelling imagery with above par sound quality to match.
If working on a budget is the plan, this introduction from TCL definitely answers the call.
We found great value for money, a light TV which means we can move it from room to room if necessary, competitive picture quality powered by a 4K and HDR engine and overall notably easy plug and play functionality.
For R4999 you get compact size, USB port, one for wired internet, three HDMI inputs, and optical sound inputs.
You also get quick access to YouTube, Prime, Netflix, Disney Plus and Google assistant with a massive volume dial.
Vibrant colours complement the unit using a AiPQ engine Gen 2 processor.
We personally loved the standby screen as it had compelling images which have the P635 looking like a landscape picture when on standby.
A definite maverick to competition and a worthy buy on a budget.
