Honor’s latest entry level duo, Honor X6a, X5 Plus

Tech brand Honor introduces two smartphones with massive potential.  The Honor X6a, and Honor X5 Plus are the latest additions to the X series that the brand has brought to South African shores.

Honor X6a

Honors X6a is interesting on paper as we see a 6.56 display that supports dynamic dimming alongside a 50MP triple camera system, a 5200mAh battery, and up to 128GB storage.

The X6a comes in a unique design that features nanocrystals, rounded corners design, and weighs 188g with a thickness of 8.35mm.

We tried to understand what the brand means by dynamic dimming and apparently, it’s the latest tech to assist in alleviating eye fatigue caused by extended screen time.

We see a 90Hz refresh rate, a 50MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera all allocated to 128GB storage, which the brand says can host over 28000 pictures, 11,000 songs, and 100HD videos locally.

All this is powered by a massive 5200mAh battery which Honor claims can support up to 17.8 hours of video playback, 13.5 hours of TikTok browsing, and around 15 hours of music streaming on a single charge.

A 22.5W supercharge allows the device to be charged from zero to 31% in 20 minutes.

The HONOR X6a is available in two colours, sky Silver and cyan lake, and is available to purchase for R3299.

Honor X5 Plus

Honor X5 Plus

Honor’s X5 Plus is also entry-level with a twist.

Expect a massive 5200mAh battery likely to power the smartphone for up to 35 hours on calls.

A 4GB plus 64 GB of storage ensures the Honor X5 Plus can store up to 12,000 images, 5000 tracks, and 45 movies on the device.

We see it comes with a 50MP rear camera that is pretty competitive according to the brand. It runs on Android 13-based Honor MagicOS7.1 and supports Google mobile services.

The Honor X5Plus is available in colours midnight black, and cyan lake and retails at R 2699.
