Samsung launches S24 series, price, specs and more, SamsungUnpacked

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled some highly anticipated series of smartphones in the form of the Galaxy S24 Plus, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the Galaxy 24.

The range brings a new era in AI for the series as we see AI taking center stage, a tad more than specs.

This is a new era, the Galaxy AI era as phrased by Samsung but looking at specs Samsung delivered traditional with a touch of AI.

The Galaxy S24 series has distinctly changed the way creativity, design, and overall creativity will function for the budding creative.

The Galaxy S24 series transforms our connection with the world and ignites the next decade of mobile innovation, according to Tim Roh, President and Head of Mobile Experience Business at Samsung.

He said Galaxy AI is built on Samsungs’ heritage and deep understanding of how people use their phones.

“We are excited to see how our users around the world empower their everyday lives with Galaxy AI to open up new possibilities.”

Specs 

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is Samsung’s first ever Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame. While this makes news, it means Samsung has factored durability into the S24 series recipe.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra brings forward a thinner body, for more grip, with the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 maintaining a traditional aesthetic with touches to highlight the contrast between the rear cover and side frame.

The Galaxy S24 series comes in different shades namely Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violin, and Titanium Yellow.

The Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 colours include Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow.

All three Galaxy S24 models, feature a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate to improve performance efficiency meaning gamers should have some graphics fun.

On the screen, we see a Corning Gorilla Armor protector on the Galaxy S24 Ultra to outmatch those everyday scratches.

We see slimmer bezels on the S24 range, which means larger screen sizes. The Galaxy S24 Plus at 6.7 inches, the Galaxy S24 with 6.2-inch display, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra with 6.8 inches.

Battery sits at 4 000mAh for the S24, 4900mAh for the Galaxy S24 Plus, and 5000mAh for the S24 Ultra.

Samsung confirmed pre-orders are now available for the S24seris, which is likely to hit the South African market on Valentine’s Day, Friday 14, February.
