LG Q6 (G6 Mini): are these the specs for LG’s new phone?

We’ve heard reports of the LG Q6, also known as the LG G6 Mini, for the past few weeks now. But what should we expect?

Will it feature a similar 18:9 screen ratio as the standard G6 (review)? What about the camera setup? Will it be a beast in the power department? Well, it looks like some of those questions may have been answered after GeekBench results leaked.

Spotted by Android Treasure, the results show that the LG Q6 will be packing a Snapdragon 430 processor and 3GB of RAM. In other words, it’s packing less power than the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto Z Play (review) and Huawei Nova — all pack the more powerful but still budget-minded Snapdragon 625.

It’s not the first phone to use the Snapdragon 430 in recent months, with the HiSense C30 Rock (review), Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 both using it. These phones all pack price tags of R4000 or below, which means we can reasonably expect LG’s mid-range device to have a similar price.

The GeekBench results tell us little else, but serial leaker Evan Blass recently posted that the device would pack an 18.5:9 display and a single 13MP main camera. Meanwhile, Techno Buffalo, citing documents provided by a “trusted source”, says the phone will have a 5.4-inch display and an 18:9 screen ratio.

Either way, I’m sure we can expect an official reveal soon, as Android Treasure claims LG is gearing up for a 11 July launch.
