Pre-Apple event rumours suggest big iPad Pro redesign

With Apple’s launch event just around the corner, there are rumours abound regarding the products set to launch.

The iPad Pro is one such device, and according to a report by 9to5Mac, the device will exclude its once iconic home button.

The rumour is based on the iOS 12.1 iPad icon which “shows an iPad with rounded corners, no Home button and no notch”.

“Another interesting detail is that the sleep/wake button is still at the top, while new iPhone models feature a side button that’s used to invoke Siri, take screenshots and shut down the device with button combinations,” the publication notes further.

9to5Mac believes that the iPad Pro has received “a big redesign”, referring to the website’s previous reveals that the device will also feature a faster processor, Face ID support and a USB-C port.

Other devices that many believe will get a refresh at the event include the Macbook Air, iMac desktops and the Mac Mini. While some believe that the event could also address Apple’s upcoming streaming service Apple TV.

Whatever may come on 30 October however, the event’s tagline is quite promising;

“There’s more in the making.”

Though the company tweeted out a colourful reminder for the event last week, which was retweeted by other official support pages, its Twitter is its usually ominously tweetless state.
