The Rand Show to host Fornite tournament and dance competition
The 2019 Rand Show has announced that it will host the Fornite Gaming Tournament and Dance Off, with R100 000 in prizes up for grabs.
This comes as part of the 125-year-old event’s new Gaming Entertainment Pavilion, an attempt to appeal to a younger demographic.
“We have purposely re-injected on trend content into the experience, to appeal to a wider range of visitors. Gaming is an extremely important part of youth and even family culture now,” explained the organisers in a press release.
According to the announcement, the Gaming Pavilion will be “an immersive environment of gaming, cosplay and dance”.
Potential players can register online for the tournament starting 25 February.
Cosplay competitions in beginner, intermediate and experienced levels will also be held during the course of the event.
While tickets to enter Johannesburg’s famous show cost R150, entrance to the Gaming Entertainment Pavilion will cost an extra R20.
Though, if you buy the early bird ticket, R100 with get you the full experience.
