Klipsch lands its T5 True wireless earbuds in South Africa
It seems like every company in 2019 has launched true wireless earbuds, and that’s largely because almost every company has.
The latest to jump on the bandwagon is US company Klipsch with its T5 True Wireless earphones.
Klipsch is perhaps better known for making speakers, but this is the company’s first true totally wireless pair.
The T5 buds offer users eight hours of audio playback on a single charge, but slot into a carrying case — that looks like a mini Zippo — that provides 24 additional hours.
There’s a focus on earbud shape too. Klipsch notes that the bud’s oval shape is patented, and allows for a more accommodating fit in the ear.
Beyond physical design, they support Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX, are IPX4 water and dust resistant, and feature voice assistant compatibility through four onboard microphones.
And like Samsung, Klipsch is also offering an app which allows users to “[mix] in ambient noise, personalise your experience, monitor battery levels, firmware upgrades and more”.
All this isn’t cheap.
The T5 True Wireless earbuds are now available in South Africa for R3749 — over R1000 more than the AirPods with wired charging case, and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds.
At least there’s healthy, growing competition in an industry that’s set to explode in the coming years.
