Microsoft Surface devices now available at Vodacom
Following Microsoft’s announcement regarding which Surface devices are coming to South Africa last month, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 are now available to buy through Vodacom.
The Vodacom bundles include a Surface device, data, a Microsoft Office 365 subscription, a mobile router, and an accessory.
While still pricey, the contracts offer consumers a way to buy the devices without paying the cash price all at once.
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7, the two-in-one laptop and tablet, has a cash price of R18 999 at Vodacom. Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop 3’s cash price starts at R22 999.
However, the Vodacom contract prices start at R809 per month for the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 i3. Contracts start at R949 per month for the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 i5.
Prices vary based on how much data you want and which versions of the devices you choose.
Consumers should note though that these are 36-month contracts rather than the usual 24-month contracts.
“With consumers shopping around for premium laptops, we understand that not all customers are able to afford the cash price,” Davide Tacchino, Managing Executive for Terminals at Vodacom, said in a statement.
“That is why we have created monthly payment plans to help customers own and pay off a top-class product over an extended period. We are proud to be the only provider that offers consumers this option.”
You can find the different contract options on the Vodacom website.
Consumers can also buy Surface devices from Incredible Connection, as well as Surface accessories, separately.
Accessories available in South Africa include the Surface Pro Type Cover, Surface Pen, and the Surface Arc Mouse.
