Xperia Play snags Android 4.0 Beta
Android 4.0 continues to roll out in drips and drabs to eager smartphone owners, with the Xperia Play becoming the latest phone to receive the coveted Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
The beta of Android 4.0 needs the user to jump through a few hoops to get setup. Only “advanced developers” should install ICS according to Sony, and unlocked phones are the only devices which will work. Google apps like Maps and Gmail wont work for the time being. Finally, and most irritatingly, Wi-Fi will be disabled.
A metric ton of Xperia Play users are still going to perform the update though, damn the consequences. Follow the frighting instructions here and unlock your phone to the future of Android.
