Apple sends out invites for 10 September iPhone event
Is it just me or do these things not feel as special any more? Apple has sent out the media invitations for its 10 September iPhone event.
The event will likely see the Cupertino-based giant unveil the iPhone 5S as well as the entry-level 5C. The fact that the invitation hints that the product being released should “brighten everyone’s day” would appear to especially hint at the the 5C given that many of the leaks we’ve seen around this device suggest that it will come in array of bright, bubble gum-style colours.
The headline device, should it emerge though, will be the 5S. That said, beyond rumours of a gimmicky fingerprint unlocking mechanism and making it available in champagne, it’s difficult to see how Apple will be able to hype its latest flagship.
There will be a lot of pressure on the event to deliver, especially given that Apple hasn’t been particularly active in the mobile space this year, instead shifting its efforts to new versions of iOS, OS X and the Macbook Pr.
