PlayStation 4 exclusive ‘Until Dawn’ seems a darker, more serious ‘Life Is Strange’
It has been an inconsistent year for PlayStation 4 exclusives. We’ve seen marvels like Bloodborne outshine terrors like The Order: 1886. With more interesting titles coming later this year, gamers on the blue side will be waiting patiently for the post-E3 2015 onslaught. But what’s first on the agenda?
Supermassive Games‘ Until Dawn will see an August release date, coupled with story driven gameplay inspired by the chaos theory. It’s all third person it would seem, and will jump on the coattails of games like Life Is Strange (which we thoroughly love).
If the trailer is indeed taken from gameplay, we could be in for one of the most beautiful games this generation has seen with a great deal of care taken with character expression, hair and skin physics.
Many are probably sick of the horror genre this year, after games like Dying Light and The Evil Within (not strictly PS4 exclusives, mind) came up well short of their hype. Will Until Dawn face the same fate, or can it itself cheat the butterfly effect?
Dramatic monologue aside, have a look at the trailer below.
