PlayStation 4 American, Canadian price cut begins today
If you’re a particularly thrifty gamer and happen to live in North America, you’ll be happy to know that the PlayStation 4 price cut comes into effect beginning today, 9 October 2015.
United States and Canadian residents will benefit from the new price of US$349.99 or CAD$429.99, respectively, which marks the first marked price drop we’ve seen for a good while.
“Our goal at PlayStation has always been to provide the best gameplay experiences at the best value, and we feel this new compelling price will open the doors to even more gamers that have yet to purchase a system,” VP of content marketing John Koller notes on PlayStation Blog.
The company’s also launching a number of bundles with the cheaper consoles, including Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and Star Wars: Battlefront.
Sadly, there’s no word on any pending price cuts for South Africa, however it does seem that retailers are dumping stock of older PlayStation 4 models, with the likes of Toys R Us South Africa reduced the PlayStation 4 in its stores to R4499 this week.
