The MIA Group, South Africa’s importer of Xiaomi products, has announced that the Xiaomi Mi 4 is now available on contract through MTN and Vodacom, and selected retailers on contract.
The flagship phone, available from 4 December to the general South African public, and previously via a flash sale, will be offered by Dion Wired, Makro, and Incredible Connection on the following contracts:
- Vodacom uChoose Flexi 110 at R249 per month
- Vodacom uChoose Flexi 150 at R279 per month
- Vodacom uChoose Flexi 200 at R299 per month
These contracts will also be available at Games, but the entry level uChoose Flexi 110 contract comes in at R20 cheaper per month, at R229 per month.
In terms of MTN prices, the Xiaomi Mi 4 will be available in its official stores, on the following contracts:
- My MTN Choice 100 at R289 per month
- My MTN Choice Flexi 200 at R289 per month
- MTN AnyTime 200 TopUp at R299 per month
These prices generally suggest that MIA and Xiaomi is pitching the phone at the upper mid-range market, including the likes of the Samsung Galaxy A5, the LG G4 Beat and the Huawei P8.
