Iron Maiden to release a free-to-play mobile RPG
Legendary British heavy metal band Iron Maiden will be dabbling in the video game market once more. The band will be releasing Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast this year for mobile devices.
Not much is currently known about the title, but according to the official website, players will be able to play as Eddie — Iron Maiden’s mascot — in this free-to-play mobile roleplaying game.
A mysterious force has shattered Eddie’s soul and scattered the shards. Travel through time and space collecting the pieces as you encounter a cast of dramatic and engaging characters.
Expect to travel through various worlds based on Iron Maiden album cover art, such as Somewhere In Time and Powerslave.
The biggest draw (so far) will be the soundtrack, which will be provided by the band. It will also include previously unheard live recordings, which will be adapted for the game.
Iron Maiden’s previous video games included on-rails shooter Ed Hunter and Speed of Light, a browser-based side-scrolling game released last year.
The band will also be visiting South Africa in May this year.
