Batman: Return to Arkham gets SA pricing, release date

Ster-Kinekor Entertainment and Warner Bros. Entertainment have announced local launch details for Batman: Return to Arkham.

Return to Arkham bundles remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City in one package, set for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Warner Bros. Entertainment has also confirmed that the titles will now be powered by Unreal Engine 4, featuring “upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders”.

The collection will also deliver all Game of the Year content and downloadable content.

SKE has confirmed that Return to Arkham will have a R699 price tag and will launch locally on 26 July.

Arkham Asylum was originally released in 2009, delivering an innovative combat system that would go on to be aped by the likes of Sleeping Dogs and Mad Max.

Arkham City, released in 2011, moved from the (mostly) linear environments of the first game and featured an open world with side missions instead.

Batman: Arkham Origins, which wasn’t as well-received as the first two titles, is notably absent from this collection.
