Pac-Man 256 brings local multiplayer to PC, PlayStation 4 & Xbox One in June
Pac-Man has pretty much seen it all as a grandfather of gaming titles. It’s been around since 1980, and has been an integral building block in the gaming world. But now it’s getting a second wind.
Pac-Man 256 is heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 21 June, thanks to Bandai Namco and developer Hipster Whale (of Crossy Road fame). This reworked version, stemming from the mobile game, is developed by 3 Sprockets.
So console and PC Pac-Man 256, while entertaining players with the age-old Pac-Man mechanics, is also getting a multiplayer arena. Note, that includes local multiplayer as well, which should be an absolute hoot at parties.
“Players will have to work together to eat all Pac-Dots & Power Pellets, and overcome the notorious ghost ensemble: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde,” Bandai Namco stated on its blog.
The company notes that Pac-Man 256 will be launched at the “suggested one time price of €4,99,” so budget for around R90 in South Africa, or US$5.60 in the States.
