Samsung Galaxy Note 7 delayed by three weeks in South Africa
Those looking forward to standing in queues outside a Samsung store on 2 September will need to curb that enthusiasm. Samsung today announced that its new flagship phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, will arrive in South Africa three weeks later than expected, on 23 September 2016.
According to Samsung SA’s integrated mobility director, Craige Fleisher, it’s thanks to the device’s “overwhelming” international demand.
“The overwhelming global demand for the new and improved Galaxy Note 7 resulted in a flood of orders. Appropriation of the initial consignment has required us to relook the local availability date of the smartphone to ensure fulfilment of all early orders,” he explains.
The device will be available to pre-order from 9 September as well, and those customers will receive an accessory package, including a wireless charger, a phone cover, USB Type-C-to-USB adapter cable, and two screen protectors. Samsung notes that it values this pack at R1299.
