Audi reportedly set to unveil S1 hot hatch at Geneva Motor Show
File this under “should be a lot of fun”. Audi is apparently getting ready to launch a new hot hatch based on its A1 city car at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The S1, reports Autoblog, will be based on the limited edition 252hp A1 Quattro it launched a little while back (pictured above).
According to Auto Express meanwhile, it’s likely that the S1 will look a little less aggressive than the A1 Quattro but should ship with around the same amount of power. The unit generating that power is slated to be a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder taken from the S3.
A six-speed dual-clutch transmission is meanwhile expected to drive all four wheels, something that the original platform wasn’t designed to accommodate but which it was later adapted for.
As for the tech, it’s unclear what the S1 will ship with, but given what the German marque’s been doing in the space in recent times, it’s hardly likely that it’ll be sparse on gadgets.
