The new Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupé looks like it’ll bite if you aren’t nice to it

If you love big, fast German two doors then the unveiling of Merc’s S 63 AMG Coupé should leave a very big grin across your face.

The latest effort from the German luxury marque’s skunkworks comes with everything we’ve come to expect from vehicles wearing the AMG badge and, perhaps, a little more too.

Let’s start with the stuff that really matters when it comes to AMG shall we? Under the bonnet, the S 63 boasts a 5.5 litre V8 with output of 430 kW (585 hp) and 900 Nm of torque. Unlike most AMGs — which are notoriously hard riding — though, the S 63 looks like it might offer something approaching a reasonable level of comfort.

That’s thanks in part to Merc’s “MAGIC BODY CONTROL”, which is best explained by the massively viral ad it made for the product (you know, the one with the chickens).

Inside, AMG claims the “instrument panel almost seamlessly transitions into the doors in a wrap-around design”. We’ll leave it up to you to figure how accurate a statement that really is, but we will say that the S 63 looks packed with tech.

Importantly, AMG claims that the new touchpad, fitted as standard, “makes it significantly easier to operate the radio, telephone and navigation system”. That’s good, because a badly bad together touchpad can be a seriously dangerous thing.
