Emission free cruising on a futuristic snail, anyone?
Fans of Turbo, DreamWork’s speedy snail tale, will be happy to know that they can now purchase their very own electric powered snail-mobile.
The Johammer J1 is the brainchild of Australian e-mobility company Johammer. Although it’s tough not to get hung up the on sluggish looks of this peculiar bike, there are some pretty cool additional features to distract riders.
The Johammer boasts a fairly long range of 200km, putting it on par with other electric motorbikes on the market, like the Zero S. Additionally, a multifunctional rearview mirror nixes the need for a separate gauge display.
The J1 also optimizes center of gravity distribution to provide a comfortable driving experience with excellent handling. Most importantly, however, the Johammer J1 is completely emission-free, providing riders with guilt free cruising.
Our verdict? Don’t expect to see these speedy snails around your neighborhood anytime soon. At US$ 31,000 they just aren’t accessible enough to breech the fringe market into the mainstream. That being said, this probably isn’t the last we’ll see of electric motorcycles.
