The Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy: Renault’s weapon of choice for the Nürburgring

It’s difficult to write about the Renault Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy without spouting cliches like “racy”, “ultra-sporty” and “French flair”. I mean look at the thing. Yes it was very clearly born to race, squealing round corners, but it also seems as if it was built to inspire your significant other to take a solo holiday in Paris.

With a 275bhp engine also includes a whole lot of racy accessories in the interior as well as racing dampers, racing-style wheels and an F1-type front blade.

The real point of this bonkers hatch though is to try and get around the Nürburgring in under eight minutes. In fact, the French marque is so confident that the car can make it round one of the world’s toughest courses in that time, it’s launched a hashtag.
